waiting for...

...snow in a suburban box-store parking lot at 9:30pm on a thursday night. it was more of a slushy-rain then anything. i'm starting to wonder if we're going to see a good, solid snowfall out here this year.

looking west...

i made this photograph today while driving along kennedy road in caledon. it shows the escarpment near the forks of the credit and the grange equestrian village. it's so difficult shooting into the sun! i took this shot at the same location where i made the photograph from my september 7th post (the yellow field...it's now very brown and drab).

i never thought i'd see...

...the rockettes. i just never had an interest to see them. i of course knew of their famous kick dancing (i think from bugs bunny), but that was all i knew of them. well, my mom was going to go with her friend, but upon her sudden flu decided to give marina and i the passes. you know what? they weren't half bad...

a reworked portfolio...

after realizing that an eFolio should be created in a landscape format (to match the dimentions of a computer monitor...a lesson i learned before creating my second eFolio), i decided to rework my first one titled "two years in the escarpment". if you haven't had a chance to see the photographs, you can check them out below...

an escarpment sunset...

this is what the escarpment looked like this evening. can you see why i love going out there?

a snowy day...

...in the escarpment. i took off by myself into the equestrian village and through the badlands. it was unbelievably cold up there! i came home with a couple of decent shots.

the last shot was taken almost exactly a year to the day that i took the one below, entitled family of pines. it's in the same location, but i wanted to see what a wider shot would look like with more sky and trees. i'm not sure which one i like better. they both have their charm, i guess.

decorating...

...the tree. that annual tradition has made it's way back into the household for another year. lucky decided she'd spend the time chewing on her bone.

getting the christmas tree...

we spent sunday driving up to hillsburgh, ontario to cut down the annual stepien christmas tree. i was kind of worried because it had been raining all week, and i really didn't want to be walking across acres of land soaked to the bone. as it turned out, it didn't rain at all. as we drove up, we listened to the 'charlie brown' christmas cd (my fav), and for those of you who know the album, right as the vocal version of "christmas time is here" began...i kid you not...it started snowing! it was a christmas miracle!
