mini snowmen...

taking advantage of the snow that has finally decided to decend upon the gta, marina and i made mini snowmen in a parking garage using the snow on my car. the snowmen died before we returned to the car. this post is in their memory.

a red squirrel...

we came across this little red squirrel in palgrave the other day. i tried offering him some of our corn nuts from 7-11, but he wasn't havin' it.

the sky over palgrave...

marina and i took a drive up to palgrave, ontario today to check out some real estate and just get the general vibe of the area. on the way back, the clouds were in a bunch right in front of the sun.

a tree island...

after i made this photograph, i looked down at my feet, saw leaves frozen under ice, and made the exposure that i posted yesturday. both were made using my voigtlander.

i made this photograph the other day in caledon. i really liked the composition that was at my feet, with a slight brushing of snow on it, because it felt very 'canadian' to me. i also love the muted colours and simplicity of it.

damien and i took in an ice dogs game tonight. ma dawgs won 4-2. yee haw!

a stream in the forest...

i had the day off of work and decided to take the ol' voigtlander rangefinder out for a spin. damien and i drove up north to palgrave, where we encountered a coyote, a peacock (believe it or not), and a crazy snow storm that came and went depending on the road we were driving on. we came across this scerene stream on our way to alton and even though the light wasn't the greatest, i just wanted to capture it on film.

...in a parking garage. i've decided that since we seem to be having a SEVERE lack of snow this year (and i was really looking forward to making some snow exposures), that i'm going to focus my attention on that which seems to be abundant in this rainy winter: puddles. this image was made in marina's parking garage.

damien took this photo of our grandfather and lucky, the dagobah dog, the other day at the dinner table. they both don't look too amused...as usual.

i was out driving among the hills of the escarpment today, but unfortunately the sky was a dull overcast grey and the one exposure i did make was pretty bland. so, when marina got off work i drowned my photographic sorrows in a cold corona (which was appropriate, seeing as how this winter is feeling more like spring or early fall).

i spent a great new years eve with my fiancee marina at the mariott in yorkville. it was kind of a bummer that it rained, but on the plus side we finally saw 'borat' (ya...they show movies that are still in theatres in the hotel room!).

as for photography, here's one of the last shots i took in 2006. it's the view from our hotel room...
